A split weekend on the road for the Peewee Bruins, returning home with a 4-2 win and a 3-3 tie against the Yorkton Terriers.

This puts them at 3-4-1 on the season, and Head Coach Aren Miller is liking what he sees from his players.

"Right now, they're buying in. Everything we're trying to teach them, they're accepting and really accepting their roles. The guys that aren't on the power play are penalty killing, and we're celebrating a good PK like it's something big, banging sticks and cheering. I think they're all embracing their roles that they're given, and that's led to some success.

He splits his time between the Peewees and his position as Assistant Coach for the Junior A Bruins, and notes that the message is often the same.

"It's just the way they accept it sometimes. I'm really proud of our group, everything we've taught them and tried to push on them, they've accepted. That's the biggest thing. Hockey is hockey, whether it's 25 years old or 5 years old or playing beer league, it doesn't change."

Sitting below .500 so far this year, Miller adds that it's time for the boys to step it up to the next level.

"We're trying to do some different stuff on the power play, and some different players. You're at that point in the season where everybody's kind of played enough games now to know what they've got. Now it's trying to crank it up to that next level. Obviously, we're struggling a little bit with scoring goals. We're doing a great job with keeping pucks out of our net, but the next thing is working on scoring, getting more aggressive around that net and tougher on our sticks."

The Bruins hit the road to Moose Jaw Thursday night to play the Warriors at 7:15 PM.
