The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins are getting ready to rock for another thrilling season on the ice in 2017/18.

And fans will be rolling right along with the team on the road thanks to Estevan's home for the Bruins': Rock106.

After picking up the broadcasts from sister-station CJ1150 a year ago, 'Estevan's Rock Radio' (CKSE 106.1) will once again provide all the action away from Affinity Place this upcoming season with a 30-game regular season broadcast schedule.

"We're looking forward to once again providing play-by-play coverage for all of southeast Saskatchewan and the snowbirds who may fly away during the winter," expressed Melissa Deitz, Station Manager with Golden West Broadcasting in Estevan.

"We have quite a following on the broadcasts. Over the years we seem to be gathering more momentum, and we are pleased to provide the broadcasts on our Rock106 FM station for a second season."

The highlight of the broadcast schedule will once again be the fact that 28 of the 29 road games on the schedule will be presented back home to Estevan and southeast Saskatchewan both on Rock106 and with the DiscoverEstevan online stream. The games can also be heard by selecting Rock106 on the free Radioplayer Canada app for your mobile device.

"What the road broadcasts allow is our loyal fan-base in Estevan a chance to keep in touch with the team," expressed Chris Lewgood, Head Coach and General Manager with the Estevan Bruins.

"I know we have a strong following in the community, and for Rock106 to provide the broadcasts from the road it allows our fans to connect with the team away from Affinity Place."

The only two games away from Estevan that will not be broadcast are the two 'SJHL Showcase' games from Hamm Latrace Arena in Saskatoon on September 25 (@ Battlefords) and September 26 (vs. La Ronge).

Fans will also enjoy a new voice on the airwaves in 2017/18 as Rock106's Rob Mahon will provide the play-by-play coverage all season long for the listeners back home and listening across the world online.

"I'm looking forward to getting started calling games for a first-class organization in the Estevan Bruins," stated Mahon. "Hockey season is always a big time of year for me, and taking over broadcasting for a strong team in a reputable league is going to be terrific. I'm grateful to Rock106 for the opportunity and I can't wait to get behind the mic for puck drop on the 15th."

Both The Home Opener And Home Finale In 2017/18 Will Be Broadcast On Rock106 & DiscoverEstevan.com.

The Rock106 broadcast schedule kicks off on day one of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season as the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins host the Melville Millionaires on Friday, September 15th at 7:30pm from Affinity Place. Then, Rock106 will bring fans the second half of the home-and-home from the Horizon Credit Union Centre in Melville on Saturday, September 16th at 7:30pm.

The lone other home broadcast on the schedule includes the Bruins' final regular season game on Friday, March 9th, once again against the Melville Millionaires at Affinity Place.

Pregame coverage for each Bruins' broadcast begins ten minutes before puck drop, with a post-game show following the final whistle to recap the action.

Aside from the gameplay, fans of the team will also enjoy interviews with the players, coaches, and executive of the black-and-gold, as well as interviews with the opposition players and coaches for the most comprehensive junior hockey broadcast coverage in the SJHL.

"It's been a great relationship and partnership with the radio station and there's been a lot of teamwork together," adds Lewgood.
