The Estevan Xtreme Scratchers have returned home from the glittering pool tables of Las Vegas, where they tested their skills against the best of the world and finished 385th of 713 teams.

"We're proud of how we did. We weren't sure of what to expect going down there. The competition was definitely more than we're used to, so we had to step up our game a bit...and I think we did very well doing so," stated Team Captain Daniyale Lalonde.

"It was a great experience right from the get-go. We didn't get people that were rude or anything, everybody was there to have fun and to have a good time."

She added that they learned first hand the meaning of the adage, 'It's not over 'till it's over.'

"One of our matches we literally went down right to the 8-ball and it was a matter of if they sunk it first, or we sunk it first, that's the kind of competition we were up against."

The Scratchers take a break until the fall, when the pool season gets underway once again.
