The Midget AA Southeast Goldwings' undefeated, five game winning streak came to a screeching halt Tuesday night in Regina against the Rebels.

"We were kind of the team to beat, and they were ready for us. We just weren't there, we were a little bit sluggish off the start and they got a couple quick goals, we never really recovered after that," stated Head Coach Al Ohrt.

Regina opened the scored with the only goal of the first period, and made it 2-0 in the second before Khloe Bedore made the scoresheet for the visitors. The Rebels added two more, however, to make it a 4-1 lead heading into the third frame. Again, Regina scored first in the third. Marci Leblanc and Taylor Rooney answered for the Goldwings, before the Rebels added two more goals to insure a 7-3 victory.

"They're pretty disappointed. They know what happened and they know they've got to come more prepared for the game next time we play them," Ohrt said of his players, "Even though we won the first five games, anybody can win on any given night, so we've got to be prepared every game."

The girls will have to bounce back on November 10th and 11th, when they head to Melville for back to back matches against the Parkland Fire.
