The AAA Bantam Southeast A's were in tough on opening weekend in the Regina Baseball League, as they fell to the Swift Current 57's in two straight.

"Defensively we played the basics well, just a few mental mistakes which is to be expected for the beginning of the year," Head Coach, Trent Dorrance said. "Batting we were a little slow on but we came around better in the second game, I think it's going to progress great after this weekend."

In game one, the 57's would come out with a 9-4 win before laying it on the A's 22-7 in game two.

"They'll be the top team in the league," Dorrance said of Swift Current. "They were hitting holes, they had one guy who hit two home runs. I used a lot of arms on opening weekend. I didn't want to hurt any arms, early in the season I'm more about developing arms. They were throwing strikes, we just have to work on pitch selection and placement."

Dorrance also commented on playing their first game at night time in Alameda.

"Under the lights was great, the crowd enjoyed it and it was exciting to get the first one under our belt."
