The Southeast A's baseball club had their bats swinging on the road over the past weekend as they played doubleheaders in Swift Current and then Regina.

On Saturday they took on Swift, falling 11-0 in the first game and then losing a close one 17-15.

"The second game, we were one bad pitch away from winning," shared Head Coach Trent Dorrance, "We were in it, but one bad pitch caused a home run and we lost."

They then headed up to Regina on Sunday to play the Buffaloes, with comparatively better results, winning 8-4 and then finishing off the second game in a 4-4 tie.

"We faced some really good pitching on the weekend, and we hit the ball very well. This early in the year, to hit the ball that well, I'm very excited for. Pitching was, at times, really, really good. We just have to work on the fine points of hitting our spots and choosing pitches at the right time, and defense is getting better by the game. All in all, we're trending in the right direction early in the season, which bodes well for the team," Dorrance added.

The A's take the diamond again on Wednesday at home, hosting Weyburn.
