The Southeast Twins recently took a trip South of the border to Williston North Dakota where they wrapped up their annual US tournament with a 1-4 record. Although their performance on the diamond didn't go as planned, it provided fun and more of a learning experience for the young ball club off the field.

"We had some good moments and quite a few bad ones, but the fun activities they have planned for the tournament makes it a blast for the kids and their families," explained Twins Head Coach Blaine Kovach. It should be noted that Kovach and senior pitcher Rhett Nikolejsin walked away with the award of best dressed during a "fungo competition" as they showcased their own rendition of the Canadian tuxedo.

Kovach will take the experience gained in Williston and look ahead as he now has his sights set on stacking wins in league play. His team will play nine games over the next twelve days starting on Wednesday against the Athletics in Regina.

"We really have to start making that push to move up the standings. We have been continuing to work on a number of things as the season has progressed and it's time to put it all together."

"We've seen them enough this season, we know what they're going to offer," shared the Head Coach as he spoke about Wednesday's opponent. "They have a few pitchers that can shut a team down. Hopefully we bring a better game than what we had in Williston," he concluded.

It all starts Wednesday as the Twins will make a big push during the second half of their season.
