The past weekend was a bit of a bumpy road for the Southeast Performance Pump AAA Twins, as they dropped a doubleheader on their home diamond.

In game one the Saskatoon Diamondbacks came out strong in the first inning, leaving the home team in the dust and handing them a 15-2 loss. Game two saw the Twins score a few more runs but ultimately fall 11-6 in Lynne Prime Park.

"There wasn't too much good that came out of Saturday. It sucks, playing short handed, but that's just the bet we made for Saturday's games," said Head Coach Blaine Kovach.

"The Diamondbacks are a good team. They're a little bit younger this year and they've had their struggles as well, and everyone's in that same boat, pretty much. We just weren't ready to play ball on Saturday, it seemed like there was lots of little things that didn't get done, lots of walks, and that just ended up being the downfall for us. We didn't play the game right."

Although the Coach didn't have a lot of positive to take away from the weekend's action, he already had a plan to better his squad.

"It's going to be a hard week of practice, I can tell you that. We've got a lot of things we need to work on and we're definitely going to be putting two solid days in this week of hard practice, getting ready for the four games this weekend coming up. The guys need to see that you just can't go out there and be lazy and take the game off, you've got to play every inning with all you've got, or else that's exactly what's going to happen. This week's going to be a good tune up for the weekend, and hopefully things change then."

The Twins take on the Regina White Sox on Saturday and the Swift Current 57's on Sunday.
