Despite being knocked out of the AAA provincial lineup to be seeded in AA Tier 1, the Southeast Twins brought the competition, finding their way to the finals.

Things started a little rough, falling 11-4 to the Weyburn Beavers on Friday, but they rebounded the next day. Saturday saw them give the Regina Blue Jays a 15-5 drubbing, then blowing out the Parkland Expos 19-0 followed by a 17-2 win over the Lumsden Cubs.

They found themselves in the final, where they lost to Lloydminister's North West Prairie Pirates 4-1.

"It ended up being the two (seeded) triple-A teams in the final. Lloyd played really well, and we played really well. It was great to watch and close right to the very end. Both teams made pressure every single inning, the pitchers did well and got out of jams, it was just a great baseball final," stated Head Coach Blaine Kovach.

He noted that their efforts in preparation paid off 'Big time', adding, "We looked very good this weekend, that's for sure."

"They (the boys) felt pretty good. There were some tears shed, but the players were happy, they had a really great time. That was a great way to end the season. It would have been nice with a win, but I think with the way they played they were pretty proud of themselves."
