The fresh faced Southeast AAA Twins are settling in and beginning to see some success on the diamond. The past weekend saw a split, dropping one doubleheader and making up for it the next day.

On Saturday, they took on the Saskatoon Diamondbacks and fell 10-3 and 11-1, before sweeping the Northwest Prairie Pirates 14-2 and 8-6.

"I was pretty happy with how things went, a .500 is pretty good especially coming late into the season here now. You've got to win a few ball games to help keep you up in the standings, and that's exactly what we've been doing the last few weekends in a row here," said Head Coach Blaine Kovach, "We're playing better, and the bats are starting to come alive, so things are starting to look up."

"Saturday, we were getting lots of guys on base, and just not scoring our runners. That can change an entire ball game, and it showed in the score. The games were a lot closer than what the final score was throughout the most of the games, but the Saskatoon Diamondbacks hit the ball, that's their job. They put the ball in play, they're a good team that way."

"Come Sunday, our bats came alive a bit more and we were able to score those base runners. We extended some innings with lots of hits and we took advantage of their defence when they let it down at times, we took our walks when we needed to and made them pay for it. It was a good change," he noted.

The Twins return to action on Wednesday in a make-up game with the Regina White Sox.
