It was a struggle for the Southeast Twins as they closed out their regular season. A win was needed in order to advance to AAA provincials, but was not found. In their doubleheader with the Regina Athletics on Saturday, they lost 9-2 and 7-6.

"Just a bit of the same old song and dance throughout the season, just that one or two bad innings that bit us in the butt there in the end. The thing is, the boys climbed back and they made a game of it both times. That's a good thing to see throughout these guys, the ability to claw back no matter what's going on. That's at least a good positive to take from those games," stated Head Coach Blaine Kovach.

"Word around the league is that, for the next few years, we'll be one of the top teams for sure. It's good to hear that coming from a lot of respected coaches throughout the league. If they stick together, they'll be a good group. It's just a good stepping stone for them because you need to take your lumps and learn from them. I think they definitely did that this year. We've had our ups and had our downs. and well get better. We'll be one of the top teams in the next few years, I guarantee it."

However, the Twins aren't putting the bats away for the year just yet. Although missing out on AAA provincials, they've been subsequently seeded for AA Tier 1, and get started at 1:00 PM on Friday.
