Some local talent in Estevan has been given the chance to show their skills all over Saskatchewan with the Stars on Ice Road Show, and the tour made its stop in Estevan on Wednesday night. Estevan talent Nicole Kistinov and Emily Hansen took to the ice on the third stop of the Saskatchewan tour, each skating as part of a group as well as with their own solo performances as well.

"They skated really good, you can tell that they've got some good coaching and really good performances. A lot of them have skated in sectionals and at the Saskatchewan winter games, so you can tell there's a good crop of girls out here," says Program Coordinator for Stars on Ice Neil Tymoruski. "It shows up on the ice."

The entire tour is meant to help show the beauty of the sport to some communities that may not get to see it at this quality. 20 of Saskatchewan's best figure skaters took to the ice to do just that here in Estevan to a large, appreciative crowd.

"We love the turnout, we love to have this local community come out and we do a presentation at the school, and we really like to have the local skaters performing."

To accompany the competitive skaters from around the province are also some younger local talent from the Estevan Figure Skating Club.
