"The power of healing is in the game."

That was the message from the Humboldt Broncos organization earlier this week, after it was announced the league would move forward and play out the Canalta Cup final between the Estevan Bruins and Nipawin Hawks.

BRUINS PRESS CONFERENCE:

As support from the hockey community continues to pour in from around the world, the Estevan Bruins are preparing to send some hefty donations as well. Over the course of the final, a goal of raising a full $75,000 has been set to go towards the families of former Bruins Darcy Haugan and Mark Cross, who died in the crash. As part of this, the partner for the final round of the playoffs has guaranteed the 50/50 at both games 3 and 4 at a minimum of $15,000.

Merchandise will also be available for purchase, with 100% of sales going to the fund that will help the families of Haugan and Cross.

A donation table is going to be set up at the table at the games for any of the attending fans who would like to put any money that they can towards the Broncos to help out as well. As a result of the expected outpour and possible sellouts in the final round of the playoffs, the seating will no longer be rush seating and instead each ticket will have an assigned seat on them.

Special guests will also be in attendance according to Bruins President, Cory Prokop.

The Bruins will honor the Broncos on their jerseys with a patch on the left side of their chests, to commemorate those who were affected in the accident. The Nipawin Hawks will be wearing green helmets as their own tribute to the Broncos.

As well, the St. Jospeh's hospital announced that they will be looking to honour the memory of Logan Boulet, who became an organ donor on his 21st birthday only a month ago, by handing out donor cards at all Bruins games this year.
