Friday is a busy day at the 2018 SaskTel Tankard with four draws and sixteen games on the ice at Affinity Place. Some teams will be eliminated from the event, starting with two teams heading home after the morning draw.

B-EVENT

JOSH HEIDT (Kerrobert) vs JASON JACOBSON (Saskatoon Nutana)

7-6 Jacobson (11 ends) - The first game of the 2018 Tankard to require extra ends, with Jason Jacobson hitting-and-sticking to count 1 in the 11th end for the win over Josh Heidt. Jacobson will play Brock Virtue at 4pm, while Heidt will face Carl deConinick-Smith at 4pm in an elimination game.

CARL DECONINICK-SMITH (Rosetown) vs BROCK VIRTUE (Kerrobert)

7-3 (9 ends) Virtue - Brock Virtue pulled away from a tight 4-3 game by scoring 2 in the 8th and stealing 1 in the 9th to defeat Carl deConinick-Smith. Virtue will play Jason Jacobson at 4pm on Friday, deConinick-Smith will play Josh Heidt at 4pm on Friday.

C-EVENT

AARON SHUTRA (Saskatoon Nutana) vs JEFF HARTUNG (Langenburg)

8-3 Hartung (9 ends) - Jeff Hartung jumped out to a 6-1 lead thanks to a 4-ender in the 4th and coasted to a victory, eliminating Aaron Shutra from the Tankard. Hartung will play at 8pm Friday night against the loser of Adam Casey-Steve Laycock.

BRAYDEN STEWART (Saskatoon Sutherland) vs DANIEL SELKE (Regina Callie)

9-5 Selke (9 ends) - Daniel Selke scored a 3-ender in the 4th to go up 5-1, then scored another 3-ender in the 9th to hold off a late push to eliminate Brayden Stewart from the Tankard. Selke will play at 4pm on Friday against the loser of Scott Bitz/Ryan Deis.

Draw #7 at 12pm will feature the Brent Gedak hometown rink facing elimination, a showdown between the last two Tankard champions, as well as 'A' Event final deciding who the first team qualified for playoffs starting Saturday night will be.
