Team Saskatchewan is still moving forward after some close matches.

Crete and Team Quebec were one down with last rock in the 10th end and, knowing their chances of winning in an extra end were slim, tried for a double take-out but got only one and handed Kirk Muyres and Team Saskatchewan a second straight steal and an 8-6 victory

The win for Muyres, third Kevin Marsh, second Daniel Marsh, lead Dallan Muyres, and coach Lyle Muyres, was a tough one after they scored four in the third end and then gave up three in the fifth that put Quebec, which had scored two in the second end, back in control. But Quebec gave up a single in nine, only to have it slip away in 10.

Brad Jacobs of Team Northern Ontario continued to roll along with a 10-4 win over John Likely and Team P.E.I. while Brendan Bottcher and Team Wild Card (Edmonton) scoring 10-5 over Andrew Symonds and Team Newfoundland and Labrador.

Jacobs, the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier champion with Harnden, third Ryan Fry and lead Ryan Harnden, has dominated his Pool A opponents this week, consistently shooting more than 90 percent as a team.

Northern Ontario scored two in the first, third and ninth ends to defeat McEwen. With three losses going into today’s final round-robin draw, Manitoba and Jon Solberg and Team Yukon both have 3-3 records. Northern Ontario is 6-0, Team Wild Card 5-1 and Saskatchewan 4-2. Only four teams advance to the Championship Pool

Manitoba will play Prince Edward Island and Yukon will play Northern Ontario in Wednesday’s final preliminary round draw.

Kirk Muyres and Team Saskatchewan scored four in the second end and rolled to a 9-5 win over Andrew Symonds of Team Newfoundland and Labrador. Their next draw is the wildcard match at 2 pm today.
