The bid for an appearance in Water Polo Nationals fell just short for three members of the Estevan Sharks Water Polo team.

Taeghen Hack, Charlotte Andrist and Mikayla hack traveled to Edmonton over the weekend, where they competed with Team Saskatchewan in the Under-16 National Championship League, Western Canadian Finals.

The trio of Sharks opened their schedule up with a close 7-6 loss to Fraser Valley, before dropping their second game to the Edmonton Tsunami, 8-4.

With the pair of losses, Saskatchewan would finished 5th in the standings, which would end their quest to compete at Nationals later this month in Montreal.

Up next for the Sharks will see their traveling team send nine athletes to Los Angeles on May, 15 to play in the Sailor Cup.
