The TS&M Bantam Bruins skated to a loss Tuesday evening against their Highway 39 rivals, the Weyburn Wings.

Weyburn jumped out to a 3 goal lead in the first frame to set the tone for the rest of the match. Mason Kukura found the net with 39 seconds remaining to crack the board for Estevan heading into the intermission.

Mason Ficther made it a one goal game in the second period, however, his goal was matched by two more from the Wings. Colby Cuddington scored in the third frame but it wasn't enough. Weyburn scored once more to seal the coffin, doubling up the Bruins 6-3.

"We just didn't play a full 60 minutes. I feel for about 45 of the 60 minutes we were a better team than them. Their goaltender made some big saves, and we didn't quite get the same in our end. Subsequently, we got down early and just couldn't quite mount the comeback," shared Head Coach Blaine Chrest.

"We lose our focus and just aren't quite ready to play when come into the game, at times. We've got to get our group to buy into that. It is a long season, and something we're working towards."

He added that that focus will mostly have to come from inside the players themselves, to be engaged and ready when they arrive to the rink.

The Bantam Bruins are back in action on November 4th against the Regina Pat Blues.
