The Estevan TS&M Bruins got their regular season off to a great start as they took down the Yorkon Xerox Terriers 6-3 on Sunday afternoon in Yorkton.

Reid Pheifer opened the scoring for Yorkton just 51 seconds into the opening frame to give the Terriers a quick 1-0 lead. The Bruins would respond midway through the period with a pair of goals from Adrien Riddell and Tace Miller just 35 seconds apart. Turner McMillen scored late in the first to extend the Bruins lead to 3-1. The Terriers out shot the Bruins 16-15 after one.

It didn't take long for the Bruins to get on the board in the second period as Blayze Siebert gave the Bruins a 4-1 lead just 4:15 into the period. Carter Dereniwsky would put away a short handed marker for the Terriers halfway through the second to make things 4-2. Blayze Siebert would net his second of the game, this time on the power play with 6:47 remaining in the second to give the Bruins a 5-2 lead. Shortly after Kieran Stewart would put the Bruins up 6-2 heading into the third period with the Terriers heavily out shooting the Bruins 17-6 after two.

The lone goal in the third period from Yorktons Rhys Maksimow wouldn't be enough, as the Bruins came out with the 6-3 win. The Bruins out shot the Terriers 12-7 in the third and got strong play from their goaltender Zane Winter throughout the game as he only allowed three goals on 40 shots.

The TS&M Bruins will open their home schedule on Saturday, September 30th against the Saskatoon Maniacs from Affinity Place at 7:00 p.m.
