Young Ontario native and golf prodigy Brooke Henderson caught the eyes of the world as she dominated the green to champion the CP Women's Open over the weekend.

With the tournament being held in Regina, and thus her victory coming on home turf, the win took on extra significance for Canadians.

"It's pretty cool. I was there, so it's pretty neat. She's the first Canadian to win it since 1973, and she's 20 years old," said TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club General Manager and Head Pro, Amanda Minchin, "She's obviously paving the path for golf in Canada, and for junior girls and boys, and for everybody. She's a great ambassador, and it's very exciting."

Henderson shot a 21 under par to easily take the championship.
