Another local business, Turnbull Excavating, was happy to support the SaskTel Tankard with a contribution of $1,000.

"We support any of the bigger events that come into Estevan as much as possible," shared owner, Ed Turnbull. "It gives us an opportunity to put some money back into the community where we've made our living."

He added that hosting events like this are also a great chance to showcase everything Estevan has to offer.

"People can really see what we have in Estevan and how much it's improved over the last few years years."

He added that the level of curling that will be on display is impressive.

"I have a cousin who is a professional curler and I've been to some of the gamest that she's been in and it's a real eye opener to see how intense it really gets."

"I just want to thank the volunteers for doing the work to get this event going here in Estevan. I know it's a lot of work and I'd like to show my appreciation to all the volunteers that are involved."

The SaskTel Tankard begins on January 31st at Affinity Place.
