The Southeast Performance Pump Twins entertained the Saskatoon Giants for a doubleheader Saturday at Lynn Prime Park in Estevan. The Twins entered the games looking to improve their record after picking up their first win of the season in Muenster two weeks ago. It would be the Giants who dominated play, though, as they picked up wins in both games.

The Giants took the first game 12-4. The Twins saw solid play from a number of players, but weren’t able to capitalize on some of their opportunities. Alex Kerr led the way with two RBI for the Twins. Hudson Neuberger also drove in a run for the Twins. On the mound, Burke Lyons was tagged with the loss. He went three innings, striking out three, but giving up eight runs. Boston Walker pitched four innings, striking out one.

In the second game of the day, the Giants built up a sizeable lead in the first three innings, and it proved to be too much for the Twins to overcome as they fell 11-6.

Neuberger picked up two more RBI in the game off of two hits. Boston Walker also showed speed on the basepaths with two stolen bases.

Ty Nikolejsin and Thomas Husband split duties on the mound. Nikolejsin was tabbed for the loss.

The Twins return to action Wednesday when they host the Regina White Sox at Tom Laing Park in Weyburn.
