In a mirror example of previous weekends, the Southeast AAA Twins faced two opponents in doubleheaders over the weekend, and split the results.

On Saturday, hit the road to Saskatoon to face the Cubs, and came away with 16-6 and 12-5 losses.

"We were either up or tied late into the game in both games. A few hits our way could have changed the difference, and then we just ran into some walk issues by our pitchers, which ultimately ended up being our downfall," said Head Coach Blaine Kovach, "We played defensively pretty well, but walks and hit batters on Saturday was the big thing that just shut us down."

However, they turned around on Sunday and swept the Swift Current 57's 7-2 and 7-4.

"Our pitchers went to work. Ty Nickolejsin and Burke Lyons both pitched very well, both very effectively keeping guys off the base path. They just went in there, threw strikes and made our defense work, and we put it all together finally."

"In the first game, our bats were a little bit slow until later on, then they finally woke up and made a big difference. Then come game two, they just stayed on the entire game, which was great to see."

The Twins have a week and weekend off, before getting back at it on Thursday, July 19th with the Regina Wolfpack.
