The U14 Elite girls softball squad continued their strong showing with an outing this weekend in Moose Jaw. Taking on two home teams and a team from Davidson, they met some high calibre opposition, according to Coach Shawn Madsen, but avoided defeat and went 2-0-1.

"We saw some decent pitching and hitting, which was nice, and some very good, competitive ball. The scores were reasonably tight, we actually had some close games where every at-bat and defensive play mattered. It wasn't quite good enough to get to the playoffs of that tournament, so we headed home but with our heads high."

The girls get the long weekend off, before heading to Swift Current for U14 provincials. Madsen noted that his team's pitching is rather above average, along with consistent hitting. They'll have that going for them while they fine tune their defensive play to iron out errors in preparation.
