Coming into the only Sunday night game, the Yellow Grass Wheat Kings had an undefeated record at home to protect and a 2-0 lead over the Kipling/Windthorst Oil Kings in the series. The first game of the series was a blowout, but the last run in Kipling was a tight game, 5-2 with one of which coming on the empty net goal.

In the first period, the Wheat Kings would start to defend that record of theirs right away. Brendon Vertefeuille got his team with an easy goal when he was gifted an easy rebound in front off a shot from Troy Miller's shot. The Wheat Kings added a second before the end of the period when Shelby Gray unleashed a slap shot that compared to a laser beam before it hit the back of the net.

In the second period, Dylan Frey and Kyle Crozier would both score wrist shot goals to add to the lead of the Wheat Kings before the Oil Kings would come back. Coming down the left side of the ice on a 2-on-1, Brandon Munro would give a beautiful feed around the defender to give Cayley Bjork the easiest tap in goal he could as for.

In the final four minutes, the Oil Kings would continue to struggle against the high powered Wheat Kings offensive power. The power play would start up for the first time for the home team, and Troy Miller would get a pass from Brad Riege on the man advantage to pot in the goal passed Trustyn McKay. Then, before the period could end, Kyle Mryglod would slap a rolling puck at the net from the point, and the shot would dip just before it hit the net, finding its way passed the goaltender once more.

Moving to the third, the Wheat Kings offence slowed down a little bit compared to their second period, but they would score twice more. The first would come from Tucker Neuberger when he scooped up a loose puck behind the net, and McKay didn't realize his team did not have the puck, so Neuberger's wrap around chance would find the back of the net unimpeded. The second goal would come later from the eighth different scorer of the night when Braden Mellon's wrist shot from the top of the circle found it's way into the net.

FINAL SCORE: Yellow Grass 8 - 1 Kipling/Windthorst                         Series Score: 3 - 0 Yellow Grass, Yellow Grass takes the series and moves on to the next round.
