Work is progressing on the Mike Sarada Athlete Education Center, a room in Affinity Place that will be utilized by Estevan Minor Hockey and the Junior A Bruins for analyzing video and other related activities.

"The City's on board, and the Bruins are actually moving ahead with construction of the room. They're hoping to have it done, actually, for their home opener," shared Tom Copeland, the former coach of the TS&M Bantam Bruins.

"That'll be kind of the first phase, and then it'll be an evolution through the year and maybe through the years I guess, as far as what it becomes. But we've got the first phase of it, getting the construction of the main facility in place."

He added that they will have to iron out the software required, as the Bruins use something separate from EMH, as well as aquiring the hardware needed.

"It's coming along, and at least we'll have something in place for everybody to use, then adding to that as the years progress.

The new room is named after Mike Sarada, who was an assistant coach for the Bantam Bruins. He passed away in a tragic accident in January.
