The Estevan Quota club celebrated 20 years of Women of Today Awards with another successful luncheon. Women from Estevan and area were celebrated for their contributions to the community. The luncheon featured speeches from Jackie Wall, Executive Director of the Estevan Chamber of Commerce and Debra Button, the former mayor of Weyburn, and past president of SUMA. 

The nominees for the TS&M Outstanding Contribution to the Workplace Award:
Lana Dubreuil, Jennifer Gervais, Kim Gingras, Jodi Kallis, Kim Locken, Tanis Savill and Debbie Wade.

 

 

 

 

 

Winner: Kim Locken. The principal of Lyndale School in Oungre"I am very overwhelmed. It's an honour. I work with the best parents, team, and kids. That's why I'm here, they help me and support me every step of the way."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Ida Petterson Memorial Award for Outstanding Entrepreneur: 
Cindy Muir, Jacquie Mvula and Jennifer Olfert.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Winner: Jennifer Olfert. Certified Personal Trainer, businesswoman. "I feel honoured, I fell humbled. It's hard to take this because I don't look at this like my job. And there's so many amazing women who are deserving it would be nice to split this with the other nominees."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Shirley Orsted Memorial Award for Outstanding Young Women: 
Janna Cinnamon, Tatiana Dutka, Mackenzie Holman, Kaetlyn Kobitz and Sammy Wade.

The Southern Plains Co-Op Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award:
Tara Kyle, Amanda Pukas, Megan Lingelbach and Gail Tytlandsvik.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Winner: Gail Tytlandsvik. Volunteer with Family Centre, Breastfeeding support Centre, Sask Summer Games. "It's so much fun to do, that's the funny part, I love doing it. It seems a little awkward to be nominated for doing something that you have a blast at. It fulfills me."
