On Saturday the Estevan RCMP had a routine traffic stop that resulted in a search warrant and arrests the following day.

Police say they stopped a vehicle that was suspected of being involved in a dangerous driving incident. As a result of the stop, and investigation, 38 grams of cocaine was seized.

Two women, aged 38 and 51, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. One of the women was later found to be hiding a small quantity of crystal meth in a body cavity.

Further investigation led police to a rural property near Frobisher. Officers executed a search warrant on the property on Sunday. The RCMP say the search resulted in finding more than a kilogram of crystal meth, 300 grams of a cocaine based substance, and a .22 caliber assault rifle.

After the search there was added charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm while prohibited and careless storage of a firearm to the charges already being faced by the 51 year old woman.

A 60 year old man from Regina was also arrested. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm without a license and careless storage of a firearm.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in provincial court on Tuesday. RCMP have said no further information will be released at this time.
