Generous folks all across the southeast are tapping into the giving spirit of Christmas, as evidenced by the 3rd Annual Toy Drive for Kids held by the Cornerstone Family Youth Center in Carlyle.

"It was awesome, we had a great turnout. We raised over $5,300 worth of toys and over $600 worth of cash donations towards the drive," shared Coordinator Jen Sedor, "That is going to go a long ways this year."

"We've already been in contact with several organizations locally here in Carlyle, along with White Bear. We contact small towns, see who's in need and then work with their local schools, churches, and community groups to find the kids that need the gifts this year."

The Center partners up with the businesses in town to make it happen. It's been held for three years, with the first two rounds raising approximately $1,800 and $3,000 respectively. There is more yet to come in for this year's inititiave.

"We've been better every year, and been able to do more good work in the area," said Sedor, who also expressed that they are grateful for all the help and support, and they expect even better results next year.
