Now that the Estevan United Way's year has been completed and their totals reached, many member agencies in town are looking forward to receiving the money they asked for.

One of those agencies is the Adult Day program.

"The year before, our partnership with the United Way," shared Marian Huber, Adult day program manager, "they helped us fund the bathtub. Before, we had a bathtub that people had to crawl into and you had to wait for it to come up. So last year the funding from the United way went to help rebuild the one room so we ended up buying a bathtub with a chair lift so people could get put into the tub and taken out."

The total cost of that project came to $50,000 with the United Way contributing $17,000.

"Without the United Way funding, we would have never been able to get that tub."

"This year, what we used the United Way funding for is basically enhanced programming. Things that we would never be able to get. We took them out to Boundary Dam, and that helps pay for the bus."

"I can only do that with SMILE. I pay SMILE to take the clients down there and definitely the United Way pays for those rides."

The Adult Day Program was also able to buy art supplies, musical instruments, books, and tablets. The United Way has also provided funds for a blood pressure machine.
