As Western Canadian Agribition kicks off this week in Regina, the major farm show has received a financial commitment from the province and Ottawa.

Both ag ministers joined together to announced up to $500,000 to support international efforts to develop markets for Canadian products.

The agreement will see up to $100,000 provided annually through 2023 with a goal of increasing registered international buyers. Official say Agribition saw 365 international buyers in 2017 with guests from 86 different countries.

The show brings thousands of people to the Regina area, filling hotels in the Queen City.
