Safety was the name of the game at the annual Saskatchewan Common Ground Alliance contractor's breakfast held Tuesday morning. Construction workers and others who engage in ground disturbance gathered together for some good food and a presentation on safe digging practices. The goal was to promote the Call Before You Dig and Look Up And Live initiatives before the 2017 construction season got underway.

"We get the contractors out, and we deliver the message of "dig safe". We're making sure that they are following the proper procedures and steps, and using the Sask 1st Call system," explained the Public Affairs Coordinator with Tundra Energy Marketing Ltd., Chantel Bourassa.

"We talked about white lining, Mission Zero, and really trying to avoid any incidents."

She said that the breakfasts, which are held across Saskatchewan, are a good opportunity to get the community out and have some good discussions amongst each other regarding construction safety, and to get that message out as well.
