Another piece of normal returned to the Estevan area on Tuesday evening when the Estevan branch of the Army Cadets returned together for the first time since April, and they couldn't be much happier. It took them some time to get things figured out according to Seargant Craig Bird, but they couldn't be much better.

"What we've done is we've broken them into two groups just so that we have a little smaller groups to be able to manage everything, and then the cleaning protocols and wearing of masks and. I'm getting things organized where you know we can have classes. Make sure things get sanitized between classes and as well as cleaning all the equipment and that sort of thing."

Now that they are up and running again, the effort can move towards recruitment. That said, they've already had three more cadets come in for the very first time. This year poses the challenge of the Cadets not being able to enter the schools to recruit, but they have come up with a solution.

"We actually just shot a recruiting video. We have to get it all done up and edited together so that we can get it approved by our public affairs officer and hopefully have that out on the Interweb and on our Facebook page shortly."

If you are interested in joining in with the Cadets, contacting them through Facebook. For parents, they have a number of information packages that can be provided, and it is free to join.

The Cadets are also looking at putting some things together for the future, but they are still limited to what they can do. Their Remembrance Day services are going to change, but their involvement will still be there.

"We're we're actually doing a little bit more online stuff, so I'm I'm just in the process of helping out the Legion to do some things for Remembrance Day. Can do some videos so that the cadets will be involved and can learn know you know some of the in class stuff. I got some time to take them out instead of doing the overnight campouts, we've actually been able to plan more one day exercises, so we'll be able to go out into the outdoors during the course of the day and have more of those instead of."

Overall the Cadets are going to start rolling as they usually do, but with only some minor changes. Be on the lookout for them on social media as they gear up for Remembrance Day.
