The Back To School Backpack Program has been running for a few years now at the Salvation Army, and runs on donations.

Ronza Reynard, the Administrative Assistant and Family Services Coordinator explains, "This year we're helping approximately 49 students to get back to school, so we filled the backpacks with some supplies; It's not everything they need but it's enough to get them started."

They Ask For the community's cuntinued support but right now as the Salvation Army is not collecting school supplies anymore, because the program is complete and yesterday is the day they started handing the backpacks out.

"Next year, the public can think about us when they are doing their shopping and if they want to buy some school supplies, it's best to do it in July and drop it off. Then we are that much further ahead come August."

For Families in need of the program they can call the Salvation Army office and they will help in anyway they can.

The Salvation Army food bank has been doing good although, it has been a little slower then anticipated through summer. Donations should start pick back up in the fall.
