If you are wondering whether the recent pleasent temperatures are a brief reprieve from winter's icy grasp, or something we can expect to see for the rest of the winter season, some mixed emotions may be in store.

Environment Canada Regional Meteorologist John-Paul Cragg says that the next few days may see some lower temperatures.

"We'll only get up to highs of around zero, and then throughout next week we're looking at highs around minus 5 to minus 10, with lows between minus 10 to minus 15. It will feel cool compared to this last week, but still slightly warmer than average."

He also adds that some flurries, with little to no accumulation, can be expected as well.

However, Cragg notes that things could return to the pendulum swing that has been prevalent the last while.

"The models are suggesting that the warm air could stick around until the end of this month. However, most likely through Feburary you can expect another outbreak of Arctic air, and another warm-up as well."

He concludes by noting,

"We're still in winter, it still gets cold, and you can definately expect to see up and down temperatures."
