On Wednesday, the Bienfait Arena was the recipient of a generous donation.

"Fire Sky Energy donated $5,500 to us," shared Amanda Pukas - treasurer for the Bienfait Arena. "That is proceeds that they raised at their annual charity golf tournament, so there were a few of us that sent in letters requesting funds for ongoing projects that we have, and we were one of the selected few."

The arena received the go-ahead this summer to insulate the rink to make it a little warmer in the winter for the patrons, and that's where the funds will go. After the demolition of the Estevan Civic Auditorium, the Bienfait Arena has increased in use with more people using the facility. Because of the increased use, they have decided to begin making upgrades to the arena that people have requested, and the first item on their list was to insulate the arena.

Fire Sky Energy donated to the arena in 2018, which went towards the rink's Zamboni. Pukas noted that they are thankful for the generous donation from Fire Sky Energy, and for all they do in the community.
