The residents of Bienfait can breathe easy knowing that their fire department has a four head gas monitor to help out those they serve, courtesy of the Estevan Kinsmen.

"We're very grateful for their help in the matter," shared Bienfait's Fire Chief, Adrian Bachorcik.

"It's a monitor that detects CO2 for our CO2 calls, carbon monoxide calls. We haven't had any detecting device for that. It's a vital piece of equipment for those calls when they come in to us. So we can pinpoint the air quality and the parts per million in the house."

He adds that this device will let them be able to let the homeowners know whether or not it is safe to be in their house.

"It's part of our firefighting equipment that we need for those calls."

The Kinsmen got involved when they were approached by the Bienfait Fire Department.

"We tried to get it from the Town of Bienfait. They've got a few capital projects on the go right now where they could accommodate us. so as a fire department, we went to other entities to see if they could help us out. It was gracious of the Kinsmen came up and helped us out."

"This is vital equipment that we need and we're so glad that we actually have it now."
