During the last council meeting the Town of Bienfait talked about the construction of their new waste waster treatment plant.

"We met with our Engineering firm that's planning our waste water project and we wet over the plans and selected how we'd like to proceed," explained Paul Carroll the Mayor of Bienfait.

"The engineers after the discussion with us, they're going to take it back and finalize to the sizing that we wanted to go with. Then we're going to put it to tender and see where the pricing comes in at and move forward from that point."

"I believe the engineering firm will be proceeding in the next few weeks with that. We're at arms length with the engineers so that everybody gets a fair shot with us," he stated.

"We had a few budget discussion ideas thrown out but we wanted to wait till we saw the numbers on our waste water project again before we move forward with our budgeting 100%."

The other thing is for the local contractors, we did ask the engineers to place an ad so that the local firms would all get a chance to see it and bid on it as they wished. We wanted to make sure that the local firms were included in the bidding process if they wished, the Saskatchewan Construction Association has a website that we wanted to make sure that the local firms  that didn't subscribe to the construction website were included in," expressed Carroll.

"We had a pretty light agenda so that we could deal with the engineers and go over our planning and procedures as we move forward on our waste water project."
