Building permits for 2018 were down significantly from 2017, Estevan city council learned Monday night.
The monthly building permit report gave an overview of how many building permits the city issued over the month and the year and the 2018 numbers were far down from the previous year.
In 2017, there were a total of 53 permits for $5,015,975 but in 2018, those numbers dipped down to 39 permits for $2,065,320.
Commercial permits were down from 2017’s total of $1,645,000 on four permits to $845,720 on nine permits. Single family permits were down from 2017’s number of five permits for $1,314,000 to this year, where there were two permits for $320,000.
Council accepted the report at Monday’s regular meeting.
