The City of Estevan is increasing their enforcement of parking issues, especially at Affinity Place.

Special Constable Josie Newton, explained what she is on the lookout for.

"Making sure vehicles aren't parking in the fire lanes and making sure all the handicapped stalls all the way around Affinity are being checked and making sure placards are being placed if people are parking there."

"I think it's maybe during bigger events where parking is a little more scare, people may park in a fire lane just to grab a spot."

The cold may also be a contributing factor as people are more tempted to park where they should to avoid walking in the freezing temperatures.

Newton added that fines for parking in a fire lane starts at $50 and can go up from there.

She also noted some other issues she has been dealing with.

"We had a call about a couple dogs at large. I wasn't able to capture them because they took off on me. Other than that, it's just snow removal on sidewalks."
