City Council convenes once again for another regular Monday night meeting in City Hall.

Among the items on this weeks agenda are readings of a couple of bylaws, the first of which is will be a first reading, establishing utility rates for 2018.

"Basically, it's got a new twist, to deal with frozen meters, which we had a little bit of an issue with last year. We've just made changes in the bylaw to address those concerns moving forward," explained Mayor Roy Ludwig.

While meters are supposed to be kept in a warm location, it doesn't always happen. When Saskatchewan's inevitable windchills hit, this results in frozen replicas of the devices and cost to the City to replace them. With this bylaw, those who have the meters in cold spots will have to pay for a new one.

Council is also expected to go through second and third readings of the pest control bylaw.

"Rod March, our Parks Manager has agreed to look after the pests, so he's taking the neccesary training. This bylaw will give him the legal means that he needs to take care of things, for example coyotes, within the city," Ludwig said.

A different face will also lead the discussion Monday night, as Councillor Dennis Moore will take over from Ludwig while the latter takes a vacation.
