Tami Dovell with the Carlyle Lions Club and friend of William Sinclair helped to organize a fundraiser to help with the costs involved with Williams Chemotherapy.

Dovell says, "I just think the world of William and Edrina, I've had the opportunity to work with them quite closely over the last few years. And of course, when they found out that William had cancer for the first time, we had a fundraiser to help them out. And the second time we wanted to do something as well. So I went to the Lions Club because William had been our president for the past two years. So they were absolutely on board, and Ray Boutin another amazing human being that owns the Prairie Dog Drive-In here in Carlyle. He said, "Hey Tami if you wanted to use our space I have a few options for you." So the Lions, me, and Ray all decided that an old classic movie would be a wonderful opportunity to have people and families come out and whatever proceeds we received at the gate would go to William."

She continues, "We also, had a silent auction and that was really good, we had a bunch of people around the community donate some really wonderful prizes. And we had an auction that night, we had a fabulous turn-out and a beautiful evening for it. And I personally love when a community comes together to help anyone in a struggle. And of course, that's what this was all about, helping William and Edrina when they're in a place of struggle."

In regards to how much was raised, "We're just under the $5000 dollar tally, I think we're just at $4700.00 right now. $2100.00 came through at the gate and Ray Boutin gave all of that to William and Edrina. And $2185.00 came through the silent auction."

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids was the movie that helped to draw the crowd out in Carlyle, "it felt so good for everyone to come together and do something for William and Edrina."
