As family and friends continue their search for Ruby Barnes who has now been missing for over a month, the RCMP is also not giving up.

"We've followed up leads from throughout the province," shared Staff Sgt Darren Simons with the Carlyle RCMP, "and even outside the province. With video, it sure has made it a lot easier to confirm or deny whether these sightings are accurate."

"We've continued to involve our search and rescue team. We're looking at doing some further search in some areas that we've been already and possibly involving the underwater response team to use a side viewing camera that would look in in water. And our major crimes unit is continuously involved in monitoring and assisting us as well."

He added that detachments from Broadview, Melville, Rosetown, and Carrot River have all been helping in the search.

"Some to follow up with where she has family and friends, some to follow up with possible sightings. Traffic Services units have also been involved where they've travelled back roads and areas that are less travelled. As well, some of the detachments have done that where she might have gone or has been in the past."

"Our search and rescue team is an RCMP team and as well, our underwater recover team is RCMP so we've used quite a bit of resources on this investigation."

"We are not giving up, if anything, we're digging deeper to look at every angle and every possibility."

"We don't want to speculate. We always look at the possibility of foul play when there's a missing person but we also always look at the fact that they could have had a tragic incident, we always look at the fact that they could have just chosen to disappear. So we are not discounting anything now and then we didn't discount anything at the beginning."
