On July 12, while using an X-ray machine to scan a traveller's backpack, CBSA officers at the Regway border crossing located a loaded 9mm handgun.

The female traveller was arrested and paid a $1,000 penalty for failing to declare.

The CBSA is reminding all travellers to declare your firearms at your first opportunity, or better yet, leave them at home.
