In part to improve communication between the City and the Leisure Centre, and in part to save money, the City is proposing to dissolve the Leisure Advisory Board.
"Part of the issue, now that we're in cutback mode with the City and not replacing some of our positions," explains Mayor Roy Ludwig. "We're trying to make do, and we're still working through those issues, but the Leisure Services Manager was the individual that basically worked closely with the advisory board."
"So now that we don't have that position, could we put someone else in that position to make it work? Probably. But we're looking at revamping that and I think that in the new year, coming out with something that is more responsive to City Council and something that we're more comfortable with."
He believes that the board last met around five months ago.
He added that no decision has been made as of yet.
