Now that renovations have been completed on the new stone house for Choose Life Ministry, the organization has welcomed their first two residents to the program.

"We went through some orientation," shared Shelley Boyes, Director for Choose Life Ministry. "Basically what I told the girls was just take this as an opportunity to grow, to get to know yourself, to work through some of the things you might struggle with and come out the other side healed and happy and whole and ready to do whatever it is that God calls you to do. It was pretty exciting. They're very enthused and excited to be here and looking forward to what God has in store for them."

Choose Life provides a six-month residential program where young women aged 18-29 can go to sort through issues like eating disorders, effects of abuse or an unplanned pregnancy.

She added that one resident is from Saskatchewan, and the other came to them from the United States.

"She found us through our website and she said it was exactly the program she was looking for."

And now that the renovations have been complete, Boyes shares that all the money raised can now go towards the program for the young women.

"In the past, a lot of our funding was capital and went towards renovations and fixing the house so that's no longer the case. for now, all the donations will go directly to the program."

"I just want to give a shoutout to all the wonderful people who have supported us over the last seven years and now that we're moving into this new phase, I just wanted to say Thank you very much and God bless everybody."

Choose Life recently held their 7th Annual Red Gala to help raise money for the program. Altogether, with auction items and ticket sales, they were able to raise $31,000.
