Another full agenda awaits Estevan City Council tonight.

One of the main topics up for the discussion centres around zoning for the impending cannabis retail outlet.

"We can control the zoning," explained Mayor Roy Ludwig, "but as far as the choices go as to who will get the franchise, that will go to the Liquor Board people."

As well, Council will discuss whether the unnamed road connecting Souris Avenue through to Woodlawn Avenue should be renamed to Brown Road.

"Council made that decision off the list that we have available. People make submissions and that name was picked by Council. I believe Mr Brown was a counsellor and a businessperson."

As well, the pet licensing bylaw will receive second and third reading.

"We haven't had a lot of feedback on the pet bylaw but we're looking forward to passing that. One of the biggest things on that will be the reduction in price. I believe it is going from around $100 to $35 if the pet is spayed or neutered. And if you pick your pet up at the Humane Society, then that will be waived."

Council will meet tonight at City Hall at 6 PM.
