An informational Open House will be held tonight in the Multi-purpose Room at the Estevan Leisure Centre form 7 pm - 8 pm to discuss the City's proposal to annex land for the RM of Estevan.

"At the Open House, we're going to have the annexation proposal," explained Adam Norquist, City of Estevan Land Development Officer. "We're going to show which areas are going to be annexed. As well, our proposal for how we see those lands developed in the next thirty years, and some more background information on Estevan's past growth and how we came to the conclusion to annex the land."

"I will be in attendance, as well as a couple of the councilors. Basically the format of the Open House will be more of a meet and greet, there will be some refreshments served. The public can come in, take time to examine the proposal, ask me or some of the councilors some questions."

He adds that this Open House is designed for people who haven't had the chance to review the information at City Hall.

"We do have all this information at City Hall but the 8-5 schedule doesn't always leave people free time to come down and arrange a meeting here."

"With most of the landowners who are affected, we have contacted them prior and have been arranging more one on one discussions. But we do see some interest from other community members."
