The City of Estevan wrapped up their first summer season with the Visitor's Centre at its new location at the Leisure Centre.

"It went really well," shared Destination Marketing Communications Officer, Rebecca Westling. "We had some great summer students and we're really looking forward to some changes here coming up in the fall."

"Council has decided that we are going to keep the Visitor's Centre open year-round. Right now it will be on a trial basis and we'll keep it open now to the beginning of May and then once May hits, we'll decide what that's going to look like in the summer coming again."

The hours will be changing in the future as well opening from Monday to Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm and then from 10 am to 6 pm on the weekend. Hours may change during big events such as hockey tournaments and the upcoming Canada Cup in December.

"Also at the Visitor's Centre, we'll have a few new items for those people playing hockey, if they need skate laces or stick tape, we'll be selling it at the Visitor's Centre."

During the past summer, Tourism Estevan ran a number of campaigns including the Selfie Sports and #ExperienceEstevan.

"We were really happy the way the communities got behind it. And with #ExperienceEstevan, we had residents loving our stories and organizations as well. We got some positive feedback and good results."
