Several matters kept on-duty members of the Estevan Police Service busy on Wednesday, including an accident, drug investigation, mischief and distracted driving.

"We had a two vehicle collision on the west end of the city. There were some minor injuries to the one driver of the vehicle, he was taken to hospital and I believe he was taken to Regina for further treatment. The status of his injuries are unknown at this time, but he's expected to recover," shared Sergeant Tyler McMillan, noting that the incident and cause were still under investigation.

"There was a drug investigation that was started yesterday. Some information was obtained by police that there was a suspicion of drugs. Our K9 unit was utilized to do a sniff for us, and now the search warrants on the property are being drafted now. The investigation is still ongoing."

Officers also conducted a traffic stop on the east end of the city. A female was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for using and holding an electronic device while driving. While checking for outstanding warrants and conditions, they discovered that she was not even supposed to be in possession of an electronic communication device per previous charges that she is facing. She was then arrested for breaching her conditions, and appears in Court Thursday.
