The City of Estevan saw a profit from last October's John Mellencamp concert.

"The John Mellencamp show on October 26th was well received by Estevan," stated Jeff Ward in a release. "Over 2,400 tickets were sold, netting a profit of $21,000,"

He went on to say that bar and food sales were up from previous shows due to the fact that the show was on a Friday evening.

"The city continues to see concerts as a vital piece to the tourism and promotion of our community. Restaurants, Hotels, and bar establishments all see the positive impacts of getting individuals into the city for a night of quality entertainment."

"Since Affinity Place opened in 2011, there have been many shows at the venue, a review of all profits and losses over that time show that the City has essentially broke even in total while hosting these events."

The City is continuing to look for more acts to visit the Energy City in the spring, once the ice is out of Affinity Place to both positively impact the economy and entertain residents.
